Welcome to Blog Fae The Bog Getting the Sh*t Oot Ma Head

If you’re looking for a mix of random topics, light-hearted nonsense, and the occasional pointless ramble, you’ve come to the right place.

Welcome back to the next instalment of Blog Fae The Bog. I’m Gaz—a writer, keen poet, habitual journaler, and a general scribbler of any old sh*te that happens to spring to mind.

Fair Warning: Please only read my blog if you are not easily offended. If you are, please read something else!

To Vote or Not to Vote

A Reality Check for the Working Class I’ll be honest with you I don’t even listen to the news anymore. Normally, I’m the last person to get involved in the “he-said, she-said” of politics. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m pretty diplomatic and politically correct most of the time, “Haha not” but as we approach this upcoming election, I can’t help but throw in my tuppence worth.

Are you still sitting on the fence? Are you undecided about whether to even bother heading to the polling station? You aren’t alone.

The Same Old, Same Old We’ve seen it all before. One party wants to stay in power and continue to ruin the country, another promises the earth with a manifesto full of wonders and wisdom but in the grand scheme of things, someone has to take control and steer the ship.

Let’s call it what it is A lot of people feel like politicians just line their own pockets and look after their own, while the decent, hard-working class get punished for just trying to live a good life and make ends meet, so It’s easy to feel fed up. We’re tired of the “bullsh*t” false promises that never turn into action. You cast your vote, they get into power, and suddenly those promises vanish like David Copperfield It feels like a wasted effort doesn’t it?

But here’s the reality check If you don’t vote, you lose your right to moan about it. Your Vote really does matter. Voting isn’t about falling in love with a candidate or believing every word in a manifesto. It’s about entitlement and accountability.

• Have Your Say: It is the only time you can actually make a difference in how the country is run.

• Hold Them Accountable: Voting is the primary tool we have to hold representatives to account. If they don’t deliver, we use our vote to show them the door.

• Don’t Let Others Choose For You: If you stay home, you’re essentially letting everyone else decide who represents you and your family.

Vote With Your Head (and Your Pocket) Forget the “heart” and the grand ideologies for a second. When you stand in that booth, vote for what benefits your circumstances.

Ask yourself the hard questions:

1. The Table Test: Is this government doing enough to put food and drink on my table?

2. The Family Test: Are they investing in our kids’ education? Are they looking after the community, nature, and the people who actually live here?

3. The Pocket Test: Are they reducing taxes for the working class, or are they investing our money in wars and issues that have absolutely nothing to do with our country?

I vote for my family. I vote for what is going to keep us afloat and move us forward. That’s my vote—I put my support where the return is best for my household.

The Stakes in Scotland What’s on the Line? If you’re heading to the polling station and you still don’t have a clue, look at the issues hitting home right now. These are the pillars the Scottish Government must focus on:

• The Cost of Living: We need real action on rising bills and the price of the weekly shop.

• The NHS & Healthcare: Reducing waiting times and making sure you can actually see a GP when you need one.

• Education: Ensuring our schools aren’t being left behind and our children have a future.

• Housing: Making sure there are affordable homes for the next generation.

Final Thoughts You might be p*ssed off and you might be cynical but don’t let that hand your power over to someone else.

My vote is for the working class, for the community and most of all for my pocket and the future of my Daughter.

It’s your say. Use it your way.

Thank you for reading , stay safe, i will see you on the next episode of Blog Fae The Bog.
