GARY MELDRUM

Founder of Walking Mends My Mind a local Fife based social community walking group promoting the positive mental and physical health and wellbeing through my love of walking and nature.

Local community activist, avid fundraiser, co founder and fully active committee member of Dunnikier Country Park Development Group, working with local community partners, local authorities and volunteers to deliver community assets and affordable community events.

Amateur writer of poetry, quotes and short stories using my words, traumas and life experiences to express my being.

Passionate about my dreams, hobbies and vested interests I dedicate one hundred and ten percent to everything I do a lot of the time for the greater good of others.

As a registered Scottish mental health first aider and fully trained mentally healthy workplace tutor delivering training to local authority staff groups through Public Health Scotland I set out to gain the knowelege and experience allowing me to fully understand all aspects surrounding mental health.

As a supporter of national charity Change Mental Health I have often assisted to promote the amazing work they carry out throughout the local communities.

I Operate my own volunteer walking group through Walking Mends My Mind and fully insured and supported by National Charity Paths For All allowing me to offer a small range of low level local guided walks for all to enjoy, promoting the positive mental and physical health benefits that walking and nature have to offer.

For me walking really does mend my mind and combined with nature there is a chemistry that is truly magical.
